Ping helps local businesses and creators find and work with each other. To do that we need some information about you. This page explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
Ping is operated by ReachUp Media, India ("we", "us"). If you have any question about this policy or your data, write to letstalk@reachupmedia.in.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, password (stored securely by our authentication provider, never in plain text) and whether you joined as a creator or a brand. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from them.
- Profile details you add: location, niche tags, bio, profile photo, company, job title, industry, company size, website, social media handles, follower, view and engagement figures, rate card or budget range, photos of and links to your work, the name of your public media kit link, days you mark as unavailable, and any verification document link you submit.
- Activity on Ping: who you ping or pass, your matches, Deal Room messages, Smart Proposals, campaign briefs and pitches, notifications, reports and blocks, and your settings (for example email notification preferences).
- Technical information: basic device, browser and log data (such as IP address and timestamps) processed by our hosting and database providers to run and secure the service. We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in.
- Your area, for the home page map: our home page draws the streets around you. Our host works out your approximate city from your IP address to centre the map; we don't store it. The page also asks your browser for your exact location. Your browser only shares it if you allow it, and it is only used in your browser to draw the map (it is forgotten when you close the tab). If you say no, the map stays at your approximate city.
3. How we use it
- To create and run your account and show your profile to other members.
- To power discovery and matching by location and niche, and to calculate your PingScore.
- To deliver messages, proposals, briefs, pitches and notifications, including emails if you have turned them on.
- To keep Ping safe: verifying members, handling reports, and preventing spam, fraud and abuse.
- To understand what works and improve the service.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use advertising trackers.
4. What other members can see
Your public profile (name, photo, location, niches, bio, company, social handles, stats, rates and PingScore) is visible to other signed-in Ping members. Deal Room messages and proposals are visible only to the people in that match. Passes are private: nobody is told when you pass on them.
When you apply to a campaign, that brand can also see the days you are booked or have marked as unavailable (the dates only, never which campaign).
Public media kit: if you are a creator and turn on your public link (pingapp.site/@yourname), anyone with the link can see your media kit, even without a Ping account: your name, photo, location, niches, bio, talent details, social handles, audience numbers, photos of and links to your work, and the days you are busy (dates only). It never shows your email, rates, settings or messages. You can turn it off in your media kit at any time, and the link then stops showing it.
5. Service providers we share data with
We use trusted providers to run Ping. They process data on our behalf and only for the purposes below:
- Supabase: database, authentication and file storage.
- Vercel: website hosting, including your approximate city (from your IP address) to centre our home page map.
- Google and Facebook: only if you choose to sign in with them.
- OpenRouter and Google (Gemini): when you use Ping AI features, such as the bio writer or suggested messages, the text needed for that request is sent to an AI model to generate a response.
- Cloudflare (Turnstile): when you sign up, log in or request a password or confirmation email, a bot check reads browser and device signals (such as your IP address) to tell people from automated programs.
- OpenStreetMap (Nominatim): when you tap "Detect", your device's coordinates are sent to turn them into a place name. We only store the place name.
- OpenFreeMap: our home page map loads OpenStreetMap street data for your area from OpenFreeMap, which receives your IP address and the map area being shown.
- Resend: to send notification emails, if you have them turned on.
- YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify and Mixcloud: when a member adds a link to their work on one of these sites, Ping shows a player for it. Nothing loads from these sites until you press play; once you do, they receive your IP address and browser information, and their own privacy policies apply.
- Content delivery networks (Google Fonts, jsDelivr, unpkg and Unsplash): our pages load fonts, code libraries and images from them, so they receive your IP address and browser information.
Some of these providers may process data outside India. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our members.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable time, except where we need to keep some of it to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or prevent abuse. Messages you sent may remain visible to the people you sent them to.
7. Your choices and rights
You can view and edit most of your profile inside Ping, turn your public media kit link on or off, and turn email notifications on or off in Settings. Under applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, or raise a grievance. Email letstalk@reachupmedia.in and we will respond as soon as we can.
Deleting your account and data: email letstalk@reachupmedia.in from the address you signed up with, with the subject "Delete my Ping account", and we will delete your account and personal data as described in section 6. If you signed in with Google or Facebook, you can also remove Ping from that account's connected apps; that stops the sign-in but does not delete your Ping data, so please email us as well.
8. Security
We use access controls, encrypted connections and row-level security rules so members can only reach the data they are allowed to see. No service can be perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and tell us straight away if you notice anything suspicious.
9. Age
Ping is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe a minor has signed up, please contact us.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Ping grows. We will change the date at the top and, for important changes, let you know in the app or by email.
